Jay-Be Folding Bed Review The Jay-Be Value e-Fibre

This week our Jay-Be folding bed review is the Value e-Fibre.

The Jay-Be Value e-Fibre folding bed is the entry level fold up bed that Jay-Be make. It is very much on the lines of the old Z bed. Being light and compact it is easily stored and is an ideal folding bed for those with limited space. Because of this, it is also a great option for those that like camping. When folded it is only 10cm deep.

The bed is easily opened with the mattress being stored within the bed frame. Once the mattress is set on the J-Tex sprung base this fold away bed stands 39cm high. Although fairly thin, the mattress offers a surprising amount of comfort. Much of this is due to the J-Tex sprung base which acts as a bit of a trampoline.

Being over 6ft tall, this Z bed is not ideal for me and I certainly wouldn’t want to spend a night on the single size, which is 70cm wide by 186cm long. However, if I was camping, I would be very happy to sleep on the small double folding bed (on my own) in preference to the ground even though it would still be a bit snug. Surprisingly, the small double holds up to 160kgs.

Being far too big to give an honest appraisal of the Value folding bed, it seemed sensible to ask my children what they thought as we have had one at home for many years. Although their friends would rather sleep on the J-Bed we also have, the Value is more than acceptable for occasional use for teenagers and smaller adults.

Even though this is an inexpensive folding bed, it still comes with the same great lifetime frame guarantee that all Jay-Be beds come with. It is hypoallergenic and also free of harmful chemicals and volatile organic compounds. Like all Jay-Be folding beds it exceeds British and European safety standards.

An excellent value cheap folding bed, that is compact and lightweight but still able to take 120kgs user weight on the single frame. The biggest benefit is its size, meaning both single and double folding beds can be stored and transported and easily.
