The Hypnos Saunderton Pillow Top bed is the firmest of the range pillow top model and looks great in our bed shop. It is paired with a open coil sprung firm edge divan base, which gives the mattress a more luxurious feel.

As this is the firmest of the pillow top mattresses made by Hypnos we thought we would review it on a platform top divan base. Being on a platform top base means there is a noticable differents between the mattresses in the range. The sides hold up well when i sit on the mattress. I can feel a sensation of comfort then the support of the spring unit. Lying back the mattress is extremely comfortable. The generously filled pillow top cushions my body whilst the springs provide support. The voids in my back are well cushioned. Moving onto my side is easy and the upholstery provides comfort for my shoulders, hips and ankles. Moving around is easier for me as the mattress is on a solid base and I am 6’5” and 17 stone. Infact is is noticably easier than moving on the softer Walbury Pillow Top mattress when it is on a sprung base. The mattress is even comfortable when lying on my front.

I'm impressed the way the ypnos Saunderton Pillow Top mattress holds its shape when i get off. The Adaptiv™ springs add loft to the pillow top and clearly do their job.

In order to provide a comparison with the other Hypnos pillow top mattresses I also tried the Saunderton on a open coil firm edge sprung divan base which gives a gentler feel. The mattress still feels firmer than the others in the range, but noticably softer than when on a platform top base. For a person of my size I would prefer a platform top base as it felt easier for me to move around on.
