We have already reviewed the Hypnos Orthocare 6 mattress which is the no turn version of this Hypnos mattress with a couple of subtle differences. But what are they and do they make a difference to the feel of the mattress?

The two main differences between the Orthocare 6 and the Hypnos Orthos Elite Wool mattress are the Orthos mattress features their unique ReActive 7-turn pocket spring system as opposed to a 6-turn spring in the Orthocare 6 mattress. The other and probably most important feature is that the Orthos Elite Wool mattress is a 2-sided mattress, that requires turning. Although we sell many more no turn mattresses these days, some people just like to have a traditional 2 sided mattress. And with our Orthos Elite and Orthocare ranges you get to choose either option.

As mentioned before, being extremely similar, the feel of the mattresses is pretty much the same. Each spring in a Hypnos mattress identifies your body shape and weight to afford complete body and spinal support. And to make certain you choose the perfect mattress for yourself; the Orthos Wool Elite mattress is available in a firm or extra firm comfort level.

The springs are covered with plentiful breathable layers of the finest natural fibres. In this case, wool and cotton. The 2 rows of genuine hand side-stitching and hand tufting hold the generous layers of upholstery in place, whilst providing additional edge-to edge support on the mattress.

The mattress is covered with a cocona infused Belgium damask to provide a hygienic, fresh and soft surface to sleep on. Cocona, which is made from coconut husks enhances the mattress fabric by helping to absorb body odours.

Big Brand Beds Hypnos mattress review

Like the Hypnos Orthocare 6 mattress I found this bed extremely comfortable and even though the mattress I tried is rated as firm, I would say it was the medium side of firm. There’s a good supportive spring that you can feel the benefit of , with deep and comfortable layers of wool upholstery. Although an Ortho mattress, this is definitely not a rock for back sleepers. The plentiful layers of upholstery make it feel great for side sleepers like myself.
